Amazing 1900s Man’s Shirt with the tinest inset of pintucks deals

When I came upon this early 1900s men's shirt, I was obsessed with the pleating inset in the front of the shirt. It is such insane detail and workmanship and the tiniest pin tucks I have ever seen. Amazing, it is in fine condition even though it probably adorned a man (KAS, the initials on the inside collar) to some elaborate parties. There are no stains or rips. There is a tiny hole in the back that you can see in the photo. The arms are 25” uncuffed and 22” cuffed. The inseam of the arms are 23” and 20” cuffed. The buttonhole slits are all ready for cuff links and button studs.

The shirt is made of cotton. The collar is 16”. The deals length of the shirt is about 30” in the front and 33” in the back. From underseam to underseam across the chest is 21”.

There is a Bates-Street label inside the shirt. The Bates Shirt Company began in Lewiston, Maine in 1870 and filed for bankruptcy in 1924. .

It is rare to find such a well-preserved shirt from that period.
