Mixing wood and metal, industrial with earthiness, geometry with organic shapes, are all things I strive for in my designs. I sawed aluminum into the bead shapes then ground, filed and polished them by hand to a satin finish. The reclaimed California Incense Cedar wood has been formed from raw wood, drilled and sanded to a gorgeous soft finish. The entire piece is finished off with a hand formed aluminum bead which can be used to adjust the length of the cord. This special piece makes a strong statement but has a thoughtful serenity, balance and beauty.
