Original 40s version of the 524 model produced for the NHS. Essentially a slimmer version of the wayfarer style that has become perhaps the most generally used and recognised eyewear design of all time. This is partly due to the efforts of the NHS in the UK to boost the standard of eye care health after the devastation of WW2. The result was the universal adoption of this shape by vast sections of society of all age groups. This is why their sizes vary so much. This pair are a mens small / womens medium.
We reckon it needs no stretch of imagination to declare that they are also a very close match for the iconic James Dean glasses. Not just because of the shape but the fact that his pair were deliberately a little bit small for his face. So if you are a man searching for that look, they may be appropriate.
