The copper tubes have been treated chemically to produce the beautiful blue patina, which is a very calming, tranquil color. What materials are used in its construction? This wind chime is made with copper tubes and solid brass hardware, which are both non-rusting metals. The wood ball clapper is birch, which has been soaked in a preservative. All cord used is black braided polyester, which is very resistant to U.V. light, rot and mildew. The wind catcher is made from copper. All of these materials are very durable and create a wind chime that is very strong and long deals lasting.
