Extremely rare bowl from the legendary Danish pottery Kähler (HAK).
It's from the series called MARGUERIT / MARGUERITTE which shows a decoration with daisies on blue.
It´s also called "Magasinstel" because it was made for the known store in Denmark called "Magasin du Nord".
The decoration is by Nils Kähler (1906-1979) and was developed already in the beginning of the 1920s. The shape was designed by his brother Hermann J Kähler (1904-1996).
The decoration is painted with the so called "horn painting technique" - an old technique in Denmark.
The tip of the cow´s horn is cut off and the paint runs through the hole. It´s a wet-in-wet technique and the daisy decoration was very difficult. Nils Kähler himself also decorated MARGUERIT pieces.
Handsigned on bottom “HAK” and stamped “Denmark”
