Antique English Christening Gown late 1800s eyelet lace white deals cotton

Such a gorgeous piece! This is an antique christening gown, from England. This piece dates to the late 1800s, and is made of a light weight white cotton with eyelet lace trim. I love the lace detailing at the chest, it is just breathtaking - take a look at the photos! It seems like there may have been some later alterations added to the piece. Since this was probably only worn for christening and then probably taken care of as a memento, this piece is in lovely condition indeed! ~*~ ~ ~*~ ~*~

Chest: 16 inches
Waist: 24 inches
Shoulder to shoulder: 8 inches
Sleeve length: 6 inches
Length: 24 inches


CONDITION : This piece is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. As stated above, this piece was probably only worn once or by the family, and then cared for as a memento! As such, this piece is in wonderful condition indeed, with only a few small stains here and there.

This textile is suitable for use as doll's clothing, decoration, or study. A wonderful historical textile.
