Antique monaural deals stethoscope/Fetal stethoscope/Medical instrument/Ebonised wood stethoscope/Collectible medical/Midwifery tool/Heart monitor

An early 20th century ebonised monaural stethoscope. These were often used to listen to the foetal/fetal heartbeat, and sometimes called Foetal/fetal stethoscopes. This one is made in two parts, the bottom comes unscrewed for storage and transport in a doctor's/midwife's bag. The wood has been "ebonised" or blacked to give the impression of ebony.

Dimensions:
17cm high
5.5cm diameter at base
4cm diameter at top

Condition: Good antique condition. The blacked surface is a little scuffed. There is a tiny crack in the wood at the bottom of the stem where it screws in to the base. Please have a look at the photographs and zoom in, as they help with the description.
