A beautiful pendant necklace made of vintage onyx stone and engraved by hand of the Tuareg tribe, nomads of the Sahara.
The Tuareg tribe believes that onyx has healing powers.
Collected in the Sahara Desert in West Africa where it was manufactured and marketed,
The engravings are geometric patterns and traditional Tuareg motifs.
They are thought to have supernatural and magical protective powers and are used to avoid danger and dispel evil.

Made from a traditional Touareg pure silver.
Supported by a necklace of tuareg black onyx beads, mixed metal tube beads and faceted beads.

Tuareg craftsmen are nomads from the Sahara Desert who use ancient and simple tools, using traditional tribal techniques and classical deals designs. Also called "Touareg Tribe" or "Blue people" because they wear beautiful indigo fabrics. Women inherit their mother's jewelry and when a woman marries, her husband offers her bracelets, rings and necklaces.

The engravings and lines inscribed on the jewels can represent a journey, desert, sand dunes or a river. The crosses are also directional and represent the four corners of the desert.
