The silhouette is dark grey with black definition of the bonnet, hair and dress....these silhouettes are typically called shades. The lady faces left and
wears a lace bonnet with top bow and bowed chin stay.

The silhouette dates to 1830's period.

The silhouette is housed in its original paper mache frame with original deals brass fittings and convex glass. There are no clues to the sitters identity unfortunately.

The silhouette is in good condition for its age. The backing card has yellowed with age - see photos.
