Offered for purchase is a lovely hammered copper vase from Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. The vase has a beautiful curving design, and it is hand painted with butterflies against a bright emerald green background. This piece came from an estate with a large Mexican Art collection. While the original label is not affixed to the piece, the daughter of the owner said this vase came from Santa Clara del Cobre region. Approx. Dimensions: 4.5 inches tall; 2.5 inches wide (at widest point); the outer diameter of the vase opening is 1.75 inches. The vase definitely has patina in spots, particularly around the rim of the vase (photo 8). As a rule, I never polish vintage metalware. I leave the decision with the new deals owner. I do not see any major scratches in the paint; but please inspect ALL of the photos - I photographed the vase from numerous angles. These images are part of the description. Photos 10 - 12 show what could be scratches, or it's just irregularities in the painting.
