Antique Dragonware Creamer Moriyama 1920s Art Deco Gray Moriage Dragon Blue Eyes Shabby Cottage Chic.

This is a gorgeous antique dragonware porcelain creamer molded in a very unusual rectangular shape which combines the traditional Japanese dragon symbolism with the emerging geometrics of the Art Deco movement. The creamer features thick, raised moriage dragons with blue glass beaded eyes against an airbrushed matte background of gray, blue, yellow, pink and white. I really enjoy the mixture of colors on the background of the creamer. The combination of the yellow, pink and blue are quite striking and pleasing to the eye. The creamer has accents of gold and there are blue enameled stylized clouds. The interior of the creamer is finished in an orange iridescent lustre glaze. The rim has a white enameled wavy line. The handle is gilded.

This would make a fine addition to your antique porcelain collection or use as intended on your dining table.

Measurements: 4.5" tall, by 5.25" wide and 3.25" deep.

The base has the red M in wreath mark (not to be confused with Morimura/Noritake). This mark is for Moriyama Mori-machi, the mark was dated to somewhere between the years of 1926 & 1929. Usually deals when you see the rectangle or square shaped Dragonware, it is by Hinode, but I was pleased to see this is Moriyama Mori-machi, also a quality manufacturer.

Very good pre-owned condition. There is some light wear to from use.
