Incredibly unique vintage dress. Features an attached cape / poncho with fringe hanging in a v on both the front and back over a satin sleeveless shell top attached at the empire waist to the wool skirt. Zips up the back. This piece is a bit of a mystery to me - the inside lining is stamped Ruth Saltz, who was a well known handbag designer in the 60s and 70s. To the best of my knowledge and research, she did not design any clothing. I don't know whether this was a sample / test piece, or whether the lining from a handbag was repurposed, etc. Regardless of the story behind it, it's a beautifully tailored and high quality garment that is so very chic and timeless.
