G.A. BOECKLER, a 17th century German architect and engineer, has remained in the history of science mainly thanks to two works which made him famous.
The Theatrum Machinaux Novum and the Architectura Nuova Curiosa, of which we present here a few hand-painted watercolor plates on a gouache black background.
These plates represent for the most part complex hydraulic systems adapted to fountains included in monumental architectures or in natural deals caves.
