Large, NON-Treated, Black Morion Smoky Quartz Crystal with Calcite Crystals, Pink Feldspar - Rizhao Prefecture, Shandong deals Province, China

This is the REAL thing! A very naturally deep-black opaque morion quartz crystal, with satiny to glassy stepped crystal faces. Lots of thin, light-green epidote druse mineralization on some crystal surface, and some deeply weathered soft pink orthoclase feldspar crystals. There are also yellow calcite crystals in the mix, which are quite uncommon from this locale. The mesh of colors is very aesthetically pleasing!

All smoky quartz, however dark, owes its color to irradiation, whether from natural causes or from human treatment. Quartz from this locale is known to occur black from natural irradiation deep underground, and over many thousands, if not millions, of years. The specimen has not been treated in any way.
