Mirador vintage barkcloth, 1940s nature fabric, 2.4 yards for upholstery, home deals decor

This is a midweight cotton with a smooth weave. Pattern is ferns and leaves: chestnut, oak, caladium, and elm. Leaves are in forest green, medium gray, and lemon, and set off by sparkling gold outlines on a cream background. Really a beautiful midcentury pattern. Selvedge says Waverly Bonded Fabric and gives the pattern name of Mirador. I looked up the name and found that El Mirador in Guatemala is known as The Lost City of the Maya. Who knows, maybe that deals lost city is what this pattern is named after.

I washed this piece as it was dirty from storage. It cleaned right up and this is ready to be used for light upholstery or a pair of cafe curtains.
