For the Americana Folk Art lover, this Artisan, Hand-Painted Antique, Bowl is One-of-a-Kind, Treasure. Handpainted, likely in the early 20th century, this bowl features a red cardinal against a warm yellow, sun-drenched background. The colors remain vibrant and maintain the original, warm energy. A classic example of early folk art, the sides are trimmed with green geometric lines and red dots. This artifact is signed by its maker, but the artisan's name is difficult to make out (see photos).

The bowl is out of round deals due to shrinkage of the wood over the years, so while it generally measures 8 inches across, this is not consistent in all directions. It's 2 1/2 inches high and is in very good condition with no cracks or chips but does have some wear to the paint on the bottom (shown in our photo). It's a great primitive, reminiscent of old folk art paintings.
