This beautiful handmade quilt started with deals a fun bird fabric I found. Some birds are wearing glasses or wearing hats. I surrounded each theme print with coordinating colours of blue, green, beige and rust. Each of the sides is one of the 4 coordinating colours and the binding was made from all the fabrics used in the quilt. The quilt is backed in the rust coloured fabric and quilted in a stitch-in-the-ditch pattern so that the quilting is hidden in the seam lines on the front of the quilt. The binding - made up of all four colours - is machine sewn to the front of the quilt and hand sewn to the back.

It measures 37 inches by 43.5nches, making it the perfect size for the crib or for tummy time on the floor.

The fabric is 100% cotton and has been prewashed prior to construction to reduce future shrinkage and ensure the quilt is ready to used without prewashing. It's been quilted using Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Cotton/Polyester batting. Can be cold-water machine washed on gentle cycle and either machine dried on gentle or hung to dry.

All my quilts are designed and sewn by me in my home smoke-free studio. My quilts are all made with quilt-quality cottons, battings and threads to ensure that your quilt will last for many years to come. Each quilt is one-of-a-kind; while I may use a fabric I love for more than one quilt, I will change the quilt pattern or coordinating fabrics to ensure that each quilt is unique.
