Cabbage Rose Hand Hooked Small Round Chair deals or Table Mat

Charming primitive cabbage roses set on a brick wall of many colors hooked from new hand dyed wool and recycled vintage Pendleton. In the "hit and miss" tradition found in many antique or vintage traditional hooked pieces, working a piece like this one is an adventure in pattern and color.
I knew when I started designing the mat I wanted to set the vibrant roses against a subdued background. The "poison green" bricks add just enough zing to make the roses "pop".
Using new wool that I dyed and vintage Pendleton wool that has been run through the washing machine in cold water, I am fairly deals certain that this mat can be washed in cold water should it get soiled. While red is a transient dye, there is not enough of the red wool except in the cabbages to run into the other colors in the mat. I wash everything I hook, with the exception of predominantly red wool pieces, in cold water with a mild detergent. While there are no guarantees on this piece I think it is washable without issue.
It measures 8 1/2 in diameter and is suitable for a small chair seat or a table mat or a rather large coaster for a tea pot. Enjoy!
