Description

Product Name: Foundry Mold, Clock Parts, Industrial Factory Salvage, Re-Purpose as deals Clock Arm?

This old foundry mold is a solid wood form that was used to make the tooling that would make the parts and components that made America run. This is a great old piece of manufacturing history. The part number is "34539" and this was made by (or perhaps made for) the G.W. Hunt Company and it is marked that way on one side on stamped tin plates. The G.W. Hunt Company was formed in 1909 and it became a major supplier of equipment to the ice cream and refrigeration trade. This was made to cast a very large clock arm, and this one was the shorter hour arm, and I have the even longer minute arm listed separately. Together they would make one heck of a statement on a big wall, and there's always time for ie cream! The colors on the mold are black and a fairly worn red. Probably from the 1920s or 1930s. The foundry mold measures about 30 3/4" long by 4 3/4" wide, and it is 5" thick. It weighs just under 2 pounds. It has one area where the wood has eroded ( see the last photo for a close up) and the rest of the mold is in good worn condition.
