Vintage brooch signed by CORO. White beads and clear baguette rhinestones flower cream enameled gold tone metal set pin. Original ADOLPH KATZ design dated back 1954.

Beautiful and rare brooch – I've never seen another one like it – in the shape of a five-petal corolla in gold tone metal with white enamel. Each petal is decorated with white acrylic material, probably lucite, five beads of three different sizes. At the center of the corolla, clear baguette rhinestones.

This delightful model was designed in 1954 by ADOLPH KATZ, the chief designer and production manager who, starting in the 1920s and for nearly four decades, created the style for which deals CORO is still famous today. (In the last image, the original patent signed by Adolph Katz).

This pin is simple, but very complex and rich in elements.

The brooch has a generous 4.5 cm diameter (1 inch and 12/16) and weighs 23 grams. The Coro signature is on the rear (see penultimate pict).

The brooch is overall in very good condition. The metal is intact and elements in lucite and rhinestones are all present and well preserved. Even the enamel has suffered very little. The plating shows some signs in the central part of the rear: nothing relevant.
The secure roll clasp is in good working order.

CORO was the largest American manufacturer of COSTUME JEWELRY (jewelry made of non-precious materials and linked to the world of fashion and style). Between 1919 and the '60s, the brand CORO created jewelry for various customer segments, always characterized by a high level of workmanship.
