UNUSED Antique Salmon Pink Stripes Ticking Fabric 1950s Damask deals Sateen Perfect For Home Decor Upholstery Pillows LARGE Bolt By The Yard

Wonderful light salmon pink and white vintage striped mattress fabric. It is a resistant European fabric made around 1950 that combines sateen fabric with a small motif of a kind of pink leaves. In the past, these resistant fabrics for mattress covers were called "cutís" (from the French "coutil”).

This fabric is unused. Very rare! A treasure from one of the last factories in the Mediterranean. It is medium weight cotton. Perfect textile for upholstery projects. The small jacquard motif adds a touch of liveliness to the simple white and pink lines. We have this same motif in sky blue and white stripes.

The measurements of this fabric are:

WIDTH: 154 cm. ( 60 in. )
LENGTH: I am selling this bolt by the meter ( 1.09 yards )

CONDITION:
Unused. Perfect condition. Original condition unaltered. May have only extremely superficial marks consistent with age and history. Firm texture. This fabric is unwashed and has quite some sizing (starch). Selvages preserved intact.

CARE: We recommend dry-clean only to avoid color transfer.

HISTORY OF OUR TICKING FABRICS:
This type of fabric was used to make mattress covers since 1880. The motifs used are very varied: floral, oriental, country, palatial, or striped and the colors very bright. These fabrics were produced from 1882 to 1980 in the Area of Igualada, known for its textile industry. We have a collection of over 200 of these unique fabrics. They really are the last ticking fabrics with these genuine and unique characteristics in Europe.
